About Us

As the owners, Paul Tilly and Maurice Jonker, we’re a married couple born in Zimbabwe and South Africa respectively, and have always harboured a desire to have our own B&B in Southern Spain. Using our heritage to influence the look and feel of the place, we like to think we bring our own special brand of African warmth and hospitality.

Almijara Residence is a boutique“pueblo blanco” B&B set in a white-washed Andalusian village called Cómpeta. We offer a distinctively designed, contemporary authentic, physical space in ahouse positioned on the historic main plaza. Whilst the house is an original Andalusian village house,the entire interior has been renovatedand designed,with South African and Zimbabwean design pieces which reflect our heritage,helpingus stay relevant and to differentiate ourselves.
