About Us
Almijara Residence is a highly rated centrally located B&B offering contemporary, clean interiors and superb breakfasts. The property is located on the Central Plaza in the heart of Cómpeta, the cornis of the Axarquía region within Malaga. We are located about 700m above sea level yet only 18 KM’s to the coast. The 2nd best beach in Europe is only 23km’s away, in Nerja. Cómpeta is famous for its sweet wine and avocados. It is the largest of the White villages here and it is a very mixed nationality village, which is exceptionally welcoming to all who visit or stay. It is very unique.
Competa is an excellent place to Hike and Cycle.
The best is to visit Cómpeta and get a feel for the village. It has a variety of fantastic Fiestas and Ferias, but the most famous is the NOCHE DEL VINO celebrated on the 15th of August and it is truly a
world class event. What is exceptional about Cómpeta is that the old and young live side by side, as too the locals and the foreigners. The municipality looks after everyone equally and one really does
feel at home.
